A Day of Worship With Nepali Churches
Nepali churches meet on Saturday morning, because it is the day of rest for Nepalis. Denton and Kayley Ice visited a church community that meets at the guest house, where we are sleeping. Denton preached from Matthew 16. Robert Hudson visited a church community near the airport. He preached from Luke 5. Lisa and I visited a church community in a village near Kathmandu. I preached from Luke 15 on the parable of the prodigal son.
We all were filled with joy from our time with our brothers and sisters in worship. Our biggest frustration was having to leave to travel to our next planned activity.
We finished our day worshipping with our Nepali brothers and sisters at a youth event. There was close to 50 students and several pastors at the event. I preached from Genesis 3. I challenged the students to have a public faith. I exhorted them to be trained in the Word of God and seek to teach their friends and family about Jesus. Several of the students performed talents of dancing and singing. The youth event was a blessing to our team.
Before going to bed, we walked to a shop to buy some Nepali shirts. Robert had the opportunity to share the gospel with the shop owner. Pray that Sheba would come to know Jesus as his savior. Pray for more opportunities in our last few days to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Nepali people.
